LEADERS

Redeemer Church is made up of a whole variety of wonderful men and women, who lead in different areas of church life. Many of these roles are hidden, but without them we would not exist. We want to honour everyone who contributes to the life of the church.

In addition to this, we have elders and deacons, who seek to steer the church in response to the leadership of Jesus.

Elders

The primary role of the Elders is to oversee and guard the church, particularly in terms of its direction and doctrine, and to help equip and release every person in the church into their God-given callings.

Ali Scott

Ali leads the team of Elders at Redeemer and works full-time for the church. He is married to Claire and they have three children: Joel, Evie and Megan.

Matt Cray

Matt is married to Jenny and they have three daughters: Esther, Hannah and Lydia. He works as a neonatal nurse in Newcastle, caring for premature babies.

Nathan Caughey

Nathan is married to Leanne and they have three children: Elia, Jude and Thea. Nathan works as a secondary school teacher across the North East.

Deacons

The Deacons serve alongside the Elders in leading the church. They meet together with the Elders every quarter to pray together and discern how God is leading us in different areas of church life. Some of the members of the team have specific responsibility for different areas of church life .
